District Midwest Hands-On Heritage
Third generation Brewer John Piening (right), Senior Assistant Brewing Manager at Samuel Adams stands with MBAA National Heritage Chair, and District Midwest Heritage Chair Rick Seemueller at the Cincinnati Riverfront Moerlein Lager House. Nestled between their shoulders, depicted in a painted mural by local artist Jim Effler, is John's Grandfather. The mural celebrates Cincinnati's grand brewing tradition and its great Beer Barons. John's grandfather was an undisputed member of that elite group.
