Chris Clausen, Craft Beverage Industry Manager for Trucent, discusses the advantages of centrifuges compared with other clarification methods. In his opinion, a centrifuge brings more value than natural sedimentation, because a centrifuge will yield more beer per batch and reduce the time needed in the fermenter. Furthermore, a centrifuge does not remove desirable characteristics from the beer, does not require consumables (like cartridges or diatomaceous earth), and provides consistent separation.
