Butterfly Valves

Abstract
The term "pivoted disc" best describes this valve because it has a disc (or plate) mounted on a shaft which is contained by a wafer that (1) supports the shaft bearings and (2) permits a shaft extension which allows the connecting of manual or automatic operators. Advantages and disadvantages are discussed.
