G. V. Jordan and R. P. Greenspan
Abstract
This paper describes the initial application of a porous metal membrane to the process filtration of beer as delivered to the packaging operation. A complete description is given of the newly developed metal membrane, including the principal chemical and physical properties as they apply to cold sterilization operations, will be set forth. Basic design data and operational features of both test and production equipment incorporating the new metal membrane are discussed. Basic test data and comparative flow conditions are also included.
