Production Planning in a Multi-Plant System

Abstract
This paper discusses the scientific approach to product planning in a multi-plant system. Reviewed are origins and characteristics of such systems and current trends in their development. Problems are reviewed associated with production planning in multi-plant systems and, through use of a case history, methods of analyzing and planning for optimum production are described. Centralization of production planning and methods of control within such a centralized system are also discussed.
