A European approach to brewhouse yield
E. Gebauer
Abstract
This paper considers the losses in extract occurring in the brewhouse. During studies made to get true figures for such losses, it was found that the extract losses can, in the long run, be quite substantial. Second, such losses do not get the economic consideration they deserve. Special emphasis was given to studying the conditions under which a good yield can be obtained without sacrificing quality of product or burdening the brewhouse operation with an excess of labor. Yield should be given all possible consideration when buying a new brewhouse.
