The new Ritter Brewery Dortmund, Germany --- Innovations in fittings and piping
K. Pfannenberg
Abstract
The author describes briefly the layout and operation of the new brewery in which the objective has been the mechanization and automation of all the operations. Much attention is given to the materials and original specifications for the construction of fittings and piping. The ideal requirements for a good valve are discussed and the installation of permanent piping for wort and beer is favored. The author believes that the headspace fittings for storage tanks have not received the attention they warrant; so this is discussed in considerable detail. A centralized pumping system provides an efficient and sanitary operation.
