Non-contact Coding by VideoJet Printer
Friar, J.H.
Abstract
From a coding machine that could print up to ten
numerals on a beer can line in 1974, the VideoJet Printer has expanded
its capability to be interfaced with a mini-computer which will print a
variable alpha/numeric message of any length. As an aid to product
traceability and freshness dates for good quality control, the VideoJet
Printer will automatically change codes in fifteen and sixty minute
cycles. Also sequential numbering is available. The non-contact VideoJet
Coder will print on any surface. Additional applications in breweries
are on fiber cartons of glass and cans, bottle labels and kegs.
