Practical aspects of new american hop varieties.

Abstract
Alpha and beta acid content and cohumulone ratios of new cultivated US hop varieties are compared to the standard varieties Cluster and Cascade. The new varieties have good agronomic characteristics, their weight yields are equal or higher than for traditional varieties, and the alpha acid yield has been improved. Assessment of the aroma qualities on ales demonstrated that none of these varieties could duplicate the effect of Cascade, with Nugget posing the most 'acceptable' alternative.
