Total productivity management in a highly automated multi-functional brewery.

Abstract
The management methods developed to cope with the demands imposed on the workforce in a highly automated brewery designed for extreme flexibility of operation (in which many different beer brands are produced in varying quantities under a system which aims to produce the precise quantity of a given brand required by a given customer at the time required by that customer) after it was discovered that the differences in working conditions between the new brewery and the company's older breweries were so great that established management practices no longer achieved the desired goals are described.
