Abstract
Recent developments in materials and methods for the removal of pests from brewery premises are reviewed, ranging from insect traps baited with sexual pheromones to the use of loudspeaker systems to deter birds from roosting on buildings. Staff training, equipment for the detection of pest infestations and recent US legislation on environmental and safety issues affecting the use of chemical pesticides are also discussed.
