Abstract
Nine years ago, the Grolsch Brewery, Enschede, The Netherlands, decided to
invest in a new brewing plant on the outskirts of Enschede, directly at the
motorway A35. In exchange, the two old facilities in Enschede and Groenlo were
to be gradually closed down. This paper describes the initial situation and the
targets for this millennium project. It describes how these targets were
transferred into practical plant design and performance. Results of efficiency
and quality performance parameters are presented.

S�ntesis
La Cervecer�a Grolsch en Enschede, Pa�ses Bajos, decidi� hace nueve a�os
invertir en una nueva planta en las afueras de Enschede para entonces
gradualmente cerrar las plantas viejas de Enschede y Groenlo. Esta presentaci�n
describe la situaci�n inicial y los objetivos de este proyecto del milenio. Se
describe c�mo los objetivos se convirtieron en un dise�o de planta pr�ctico con
buenos resultados. Se presentan par�metros de eficiencia y de desempe�o en
cuanto a calidad.
