Forming The Master Brewers Association of the Americas

A small group of master brewers gathered in Chicago in March of 1887. These individuals belonged to various local master brewer groups and decided to form a conglomerate of master brewers to better benefit the masses.

A committee of three men—Louis Frisch, William J. Seib, and Charles J. Schmidt—was appointed to draft the charter of the organization. The Master Brewers' Association of the United States was granted the charter on April 14, 1887.

The whole story on the history of the association (up to 1987) can be found in this Brewers Digest article
