Abstract
As more and more brewing companies emerge and existing craft breweries commit to increase production through expansion or adding new facilities, the use of steam boilers for this segment has never been greater. With that in mind, an understanding of the unique uses of the steam utility in brewing is necessary to match a boiler selection properly. This article covers the primary selection factors needed to make that decision: codes and standards, steam system pressure and load requirements, boiler types, and safety concerns.
