This article provides an overview of means by which brewers can achieve an ecologically friendlier beer production and distribution process. Areas discussed include minimizing resource consumption, optimizing the brewing process, investing in sustainable technologies, sourcing renewable energy, making the best equipment investment decisions by using a total cost of ownership (TCO) approach, implementing reliability-centered maintenance, and adopting eco-friendly packaging and logistics practices.
